The Plough Inn

33 Hall Gate, Diseworth, Derby DE74 2QJ, UK – 01332 810333

We had an excellent Sunday lunch in the plough. The portion size was generous without being silly and it was cooked to perfection. The veggies weren't overcooked (thankfully!) and the meat was cooked but still moist and succulent. The staff were attentive and professional. The waitress was a little hesitant but she was fairly young and still learning the job so that's fair enough. Parking was very easy as the car park at the back is pretty big. The outdoor seating area was also pretty huge too. We will definitely be going back again, hopefully on a Sunday!

Great place next to the airport. Cozy and friendly with good food in resonable prices!

Clock Warehouse Shardlow

Shardlow, Derby DE72 2GL, UK – 01332 650556

Just popping in on the off chance that they had a table on Father's Day. They did fortunately to save me searching round for another eatery. It was our first visit to this eatery and the place was lovely right next to canal. The place was buzzing and had a really good atmosphere, everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. We got drinks and looked at menu, it was very varied and mouth watering. For starters I had Figs salad on toasted Sourbread and my husband had Prawn cocktail with brown bread and butter. Both starters were delicious and presentation was excellent. For mains, I had 10oz grilled Gammon steak with fried egg and pineapple slice from a fresh pineapple, chips, peas and baby vine tomatoes on side. My hubby had Hunter's chicken with chips and salad. Both meals were very good we enjoyed every mouthful and extremely filling. We were too full for puddings so opted for coffee instead, it was a really nice coffee served with milk in a little container and small vanilla biscuit. We both enjoyed our meals in every way and will certainly go again. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our visit. The food was good, served by cheerful and helpful staff. You get a good feeling as you walk in where there is a pleasant, open, and well decorated bar area. This continues through into the restaurant area where there are large picture windows with views of the Trent and Mersey canal. Outside areas very well planned with lots of seating. We can certainly recommend The Clock Warehouse.

The Jolly Potters

36 Hillside, Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2NH, UK – 01332 811912

Brilliant old time pub with local history, fabulous low ceiling building!

Quaint pub with a small scattering of unfriendly locals whose eyes follow you as you enter. Felt a bit like the zebra who's wandered into the lions` cage. Good beer apparently.
